Abstract:
This article addresses issues in relations between Russia and Poland in the area of the development of tourism and humanitarian exchanges. The author brings to light the specifics of the way Russians and Poles perceive each other and lays emphasis on the characteristics of the mentality of each of the nations. The article points up differences in the perception of traditional and new Polish brands and proposes new dimensions in fostering effective tourism exchanges between Russia and Poland.

Abstract:
In September, 1939, there took place the division of Poland between Germany and the USSR, which had been preceded by a set of measures of a diplomatic and military nature. The outcome of these activities was the signing of a non-aggression pact on August 23, 1939, known as the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact. On September 1, 1939, German and Slovak troops invaded Poland. On September 16, the Polish government fled the country. The USSR took military measures to protect Ukrainians and Belarusians living in Poland’s eastern voivodeships. This article explores the actions of the Red Workers' and Peasants' Army in the annexation of Western Ukraine in September, 1939.

This article, based on archive and statistical materials and the results of analytical work carried out by predecessors, examines the place and role of professional social organizations in the development of the cultural/artistic life of ethnic minorities. Considerable attention is devoted to examining the regional aspect of social structuring and inquiring into the ethnic mobilization of Ukraine’s ethnoses. On the whole, the author draws a conclusion about the effectiveness of work done by national/cultural centers, societies, and unions in the area of the development of the ethno-cultural space of ethnic minorities. The article brings to light the forms of impact of national/cultural organizations on social institutes.

German Nazism attached special significance to the symbol of fire in its ideology. Subsequent to burning books, the Nazis proceeded to burning synagogues during the Night of Broken Glass. Germany’s invasion of the USSR marked the commencement of the process of the mass slaughter of the Jewish population, and soon the Nazis, their allies and collaborationists started to apply the same methods throughout the occupied territory.

This article addresses the material remuneration and consumer capacity of workers in the Adygei autonomous region in the 1920s. The author points up difficulties with the analysis of relevant sources and the study of the issue in question. The article draws a conclusion that the poor material aspect of daily subsistence led as early as the late 1920s to that the “Homo Biologicus” became the main character of the Soviet era and that for many hardship and privation shifted the focus of attention away from their rights and civil dignity.
