Letters and Diaries of E.M. Rudneva as a Historical Source

Abstract:
The article, studying the certain source, shows the possibilities of the published documents of personal origin for the study of anthropologic component of the Great Patriotic War, notes that they reconstruct the unusual image of war. It appears to the reader as a time of people, who fought and lived with a strong faith that life goes on against the odds. The paper emphasizes that habituation to this image for the professional society is still akin to the ‘practice of wearng boots of the 41 size’.

Abstract:
The paper considers regional interpretation of politics, concerning imperial space consolidation on the example of schools of uyezd city of polyethnic Povolzhskiy Region. The fact that modernization processes, supported by the demands of the local elite, prevailed over traditionalistic policy of the authorities, concerning the creation of the united nation, aimed at the maintenance of the viability of the imperial regime is stated.

«We Also Want to Live Happily, as Our Beloved Stalin»: Letters cut Emotional Leaders of the Provincial Cities of the USSR (1930s)

Abstract:
This article is devoted to the study of the emotional sphere of Soviet everyday life from the perspective of cultural history of emotions. The study of this slice of everyday life (for example, the provincial cities of the USSR of the 1930s) requires the use of appropriate sources. Such sources in this case were letters leaders (Stalin, Molotov, Kalinin, etc.) from ordinary citizens. These documents describe different aspects of life in the provincial cities of the country specific requests of citizens, and, in general, give an idea of what the ideal pre-war decades of the Soviet people was "happy life", which, for the most part, they were deprived.
